Hollis Ceramics.
Overview
Hollis has made stoneware by hand in Kingston, New York, since 1987. The glazes were known across the Northeast; the website was a 2011 template. We gave them an identity as calm as the work and a shop that shows each glaze in daylight.

The challenge
Known by name, lost online.
Buyers found Hollis at craft fairs and in a few shops on the Hudson. Online, the glazes looked flat and the shop asked for six steps to buy a mug.
The family wanted more wholesale orders without turning the pottery into a lifestyle brand.
Our approach
Let the glaze do the talking.
We drew a narrow wordmark from the stamp the founders press into every pot, and paired it with one sans-serif type family and a palette taken from the kiln room.
We shot every glaze at the same window at the same hour, so color on screen matches the piece in the box.

The result
A shop that reads like the studio.
The new shop takes three steps from a product page to a receipt. The wholesale page lists terms, minimums and lead times in plain words.
The family now updates stock and photos themselves each Friday.
