The founders of Hollis Ceramics have pressed the same small stamp into the base of every pot since 1987. It was the best mark they had, and nobody outside the studio had seen it.
We scanned a dozen pots and traced the stamp from each one. No two impressions were the same, which told us where the hand mattered and where it did not.
The final wordmark keeps the narrow letters and the slightly uneven baseline of the stamp, drawn clean enough to print at the size of a business card.
